Right from the beginning Niantic said they planned on doing events that all Pokémon GO gamers could get with and now the first event has been announced and it starts this very week!
From the 26th of October until the 1st of November, Niantic are celebrating Halloween with Pokémon GO and if you have been having difficulty racking up the experience points and candies, then you really will love this event because now you can earn twice the amount of candy every time you catch, hatch and event transfer a Pokémon but even then that isn’t all because also during this period of time, your buddy Pokémon will now earn candy much faster, four times faster in fact!
But that’s just the treat side of the event, the trick side is you’ll want to stock up on those Poké Balls because we’re going to get bombarded by spooky Pokémon. We’re talking Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Zubat, Golbat, Drowzee, and Hypno. However with Europe being the home to the exclusive Mr. Mime, there might be a chance those of us in Europe can encounter a few more of them more often as well, but Niantic haven’t said anything about this, so it is doubtful, but we have reached out to see if we can get a comment on this.
Even if Mr. Mime is a no show, that’s quite alright, I think we’ll all be a bit too busy trying to rack up the experience points and candy hoarding to care and just in case you were one of those who stopped playing the app, maybe this is a good enough reason for you to pick it up and play it for a week.
