Nintendo64: 20 years on!
It has been just over 20 years since the N64 was released in America. I remember getting mine about 17 years ago. I was only 11 at the time. I already had a Gameboy that I constantly played.
I booted up the console with Ocarina Of Time and it felt very magical. I also had Banjo Kazooie and Goldeneye. I spent years pretty much glued to it and slowly built up an awesome collection.
I had other great games such as Mario Kart 64, Perfect Dark, Conkers BFD, Majoras Mask and many more.
17 years on I still occasionally play on the N64 and have a pretty good collection still. For me it is a console that has stood the test of time. Not only because it still works when I turn it on, but the amazing selection of games that were released for it, which in my opinion hasn’t quite been topped by a console since.
And the graphics don’t bother me, the gameplay is what keeps me going back to it, along with the nostalgia and fond memories.
It was a console that brought families together, which is true in my case. And will remain my all time favourite console.
