Miitomo is now in the West and My Nintendo is live, which means it’s time to start racking up those points boys and girls because there are plenty of rewards just waiting for us! And that’s not all, because by having registered for the My Nintendo account, now that the site is out, any PAL gamer who has an account can now download the exclusive Flipnote Studio 3D for their 3DS and you can get the full details here.

bg-heroFlipnote aside, before I get carried away with points and rewards, first let’s start with Miitomo. For a free app, it has certainly been a bit troublesome for me, as first my Samsung phone refused to download it, then when it finally did, I just can’t launch it at all. In the end I had to settle for getting it on an iPad, but even then, the app just loves to crash on me unexpectedly, but at least it was kind enough for me to create my Mii first and sync all my accounts. Whereas good buddy of mine and owner of Miketendo64, Mike Scorpio had no problem whatsoever with getting the game and using it, but that being said, there are certainly quite a few of us who have been having some issues with the mobile app, which is for everyone to see as those having difficulties, quite a few of them took to mentioning it in their review.

Still that aside, how does the app handle? Well it’s easy to understand, and get on your way and so far nothing seems permanent. If you don’t like how your Mii looks, you can edit it, or just make another one. You can change your clothes as much as you want and buy new items of clothing from the store thanks to the in-game currency and you can visit friends or let them visit you. Faster way of making friends is by syncing your Facebook and Twitter account and adding anyone you’re connected to on either account. Also once confirmed friends, you can send friend requests to anyone they are friends with.

Then of course there’s the whole social side to it of answering questions from your friends, which can be edited later on should you need to, and you can listen to what other Miis have to say and take & add photos to your very own album. So far within the first couple of hours into Miitomo, the apps quite alright, glorified Tomodachi game or not  and before I go any further, as all of this is starting to feel more like a review, let’s move on to My Nintendo and for anyone who doesn’t know the web address, you can access the site with the link below

My Nintendo is Nintendo’s new account system where you can earn yourself Platinum points by completing various missions, such as connecting your My Nintendo account and Miitomo to your Nintendo Network ID, Facebook and Twitter. Other missions Miitomo missions can be achieved by changing your costume daily, listening to friends and answering questions. But then there are the missions that will give you Gold Points, which go a long way to buying you rewards that are old games, but the full version, or huge discounts on newer titles. So far the only way to obtain these Gold Points is by spending a certain amount of cold hard cash, in the Nintendo eShop.

More missions will be added to the site soon enough and I’ve already been hard at work racking up as many Platinum points as I can get because I really want that My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and I am just 95 Platinum points away from getting it and now below you can find a full list of rewards for North America and a second list for Europe:

As of this moment, outside of Japan, there is not a single physical reward, but maybe with a lot of luck and time, we will see Nintendo implement the likes of plush toys and such, so that My Nintendo all around the world, will have rewards that do not remain solely digital. But the good news is if they do in fact do this, with it possibly being months away, it would give us a couple months to get all the points we would need to get a Link doll, or even a carry case for a 3DS, or even a sticker decal and with Japan getting this attention already, it gives hope the rest of us will too.

Either way, Miitomo and My Nintendo have truly landed and love them or hate them, there will be no changing that, but what you can do is give us your full thoughts on both and all the rewards we listed here.
