Pikmin 4 | Free Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Demo Now Available Ahead of November 12 Launch

Players can explore Sun-Speckled Terrace and sample Dandori Academy challenges today, with all progress carrying over to the full game.

Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy receives a free demo on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop. It includes the opening area Sun-Speckled Terrace (where players meet Oatchi and begin assembling their squad) plus two stages from the new Dandori Academy mode. Save data carries over to the full release, so time spent in the demo is not wasted.

The full Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches November 12, 2026 and adds visual upgrades, microphone voice commands for Oatchi (examples include “Rush” and “Go to work”), and the Dandori Academy itself—a series of timed treasure-collecting exams with medals and progressive stage releases (72 stages planned over time). Owners of the original Nintendo Switch version can purchase a $9.99 Upgrade Pack.

This follows the surprise Pikmin Day Direct hosted by Shigeru Miyamoto on October 31 / November 1, 2026, which officially established November 1 as annual Pikmin Day (inspired by the red, blue and yellow Pikmin resembling “11.1”). The Direct also covered Pikmin Bloom updates, new “Hello! Pikmin” animated shorts, and themed icons. No brand-new mainline Pikmin game was announced, but the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and demo give the series immediate momentum.

The demo is a practical way for both newcomers and returning players to test the enhanced version before committing, especially with the full game arriving just days after the Ocarina of Time launch.
