Nintendo Switch 2 | The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition Available Today

Special-edition Switch 2 hardware celebrating Zelda’s 40th anniversary hits shelves today!

The limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition is available today, October 29, 2026.

Announced during the Zelda 40th Anniversary presentation in early September, the system features green-and-gold Joy-Con 2 controllers with Triforce detailing, a dock dominated by a large gold Triforce motif, and matching green-and-black design language. It does not include a game. The MSRP is $519.99 in the US (approximately £435 / €520 depending on region and retailer). Matching Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller (with or without display stand) and carrying case + screen protector also launch today.

The release is timed one week ahead of the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on November 5, 2026. Limited stock has led to rapid sell-outs at major retailers. Some Walmart customers reported last-minute cancellations of pre-orders citing overselling.
