More improvements.

Today, on November 27, 2025, a new update has rolled out for the Nintendo Switch App, bringing it to version 3.2.0. Compatibility for phones running Android 8 and iOS 15 and earlier has been dropped, with a few new features added. For the full patch notes, we have them here:

Nintendo Switch App | Ver. 3.2.0 Patch Notes: (Released November 27, 2025)

  • The app no longer supports iOS versions prior to iOS 16. iOS devices must have iOS 16 or later to be compatible with this app.
  • This app’s device compatibility has changed to devices running Android 9 and later.
  • The notification received when a friend comes online has been updated to include the name of the software they’re using, if applicable.
  • You can now send friend requests to users you’ve chatted with in a GameChat session.
  • You can now copy the hashtags for a software title. This can be done from the details for a screenshot or video.
  • You can now create a Nintendo Switch App album in the iOS Photos app. To use this feature, enable it from Settings in this app.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the order of screenshots and videos to change when downloading several at once.
  • Other small bug fixes have also been made.

  • Animal Crossing™: New Horizons:
    • Send custom designs made in Animal Crossing titles for the Nintendo 3DS™ family of systems to Animal Crossing: New Horizons
    • Use your smartphone to input chat messages for in-game communication
    • Check whether your Best Friends are online
  • Super Smash Bros.™ Ultimate:
    • View posted videos and images
    • Queue up user-created stages for downloading to your game
    • View notifications about upcoming events
  • Splatoon™ 2:
    • Check rankings and stage schedules
    • View detailed results from battles or Salmon Run 

 

  • View your online friends — You can see which of your friends are online from your smartphone. You can even see which games they’re playing.
    • Note: Some friend features, like adding friends, can only be accessed from a Nintendo Switch system.
  • Use voice chat during online play — From this app, you can join in on voice chat while playing supported software online. By using the app, your voice-chat status will be automatically synced with the game status—and in games that support team battles, like Splatoon 2, you can choose to chat with just the players who are on your team.
