Previously, Nintendo stated that while tours will continue, in terms of new content, Mario Kart Tour would not be receiving any more. Well, that statement is no longer true. While Super Mario Run is busy celebrating the release of Donkey Kong Bananza, next week will see Mario Kart Tour celebrate the release of Mario Kart World thanks to a special campaign that will be running during the upcoming Sunshine Tour. No new tracks are being added, but Mechanic outfits are to be added for Mario and Luigi, based on the ones they wear in Mario Kart World, and four new karts are to be added also.
A new notification has been shared in-game detailing the upcoming event, along with a new video. Both of which we shall now share here:

Next up is the Sunshine Tour! The available courses, challenges, and tour gifts will change.
Also, an event to celebrate the release of the Mario Kart™ World game for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system is scheduled to start!
Certain drivers and karts that appear as a part of this event will be available only during this time, so be sure to check it out.
We’re also introducing the Sunshine Tour and this event in a video!
The Summertime Celebration is here! —The Summertime Celebration will begin during the next tour!
Notes:
- Certain drivers and karts that will appear can be obtained only during the Sunshine Tour, which is active from 23/07/2025 07:00 to 06/08/2025 06:59.
- From the Sunshine Tour on, no new drivers or karts are scheduled to be added.
- Please be aware that the tour gifts included in the current tour cannot be obtained once the tour’s active period ends.
- Event tokens obtained in events cannot be carried over to the following tour or beyond.

About Mario Kart Tour:
