Hello all! Today marks a momentous occasion here at Miketendo64! Our little piece of the internet celebrates 10 years since it launched back in 2015. We have had many high and low points over the years, but we are forever grateful to each and every wonderful person who has taken the time to visit our website.
Our little blog has grown so much and continues to do so, although we are well aware of the change in the air that constantly keeps us thinking about what we should do next. Life is so fast now. Trends are in constant flux. What works today, fails tomorrow, and just when we think we might be on to something, the rug is swiftly pulled out from underneath us.
The algorithm has not been kind to us either and constantly shuffles us off the first few pages of Google Search. It’s hard enough when you are a top-ranking website in your field, but when you are a small site, a change in the algorithm has a heavy impact on website traffic. It is disheartening to us every time it happens. We then have to try and claw our way back up again and again, but it gets harder and harder every time.
That said, we are still so proud of what we have achieved. We’ve worked alongside some very amazing people who have written for us over the years. We attended multiple big gaming events as press and met brilliant-minded game developers, long-time Internet friends, and supportive fans. We have reviewed hundreds of games for different Nintendo platforms, including the Wii U, 3DS, and the Nintendo Switch family of systems. We are also extremely honoured that Miketendo64 has been visited over four million times, which is just mind-blowing for us, so thank you all for so much for your support over the years.
We will, of course, continue to write great and engaging content. Also with the Nintendo Switch 2 releasing next month, we will be excited to review the brand new console and its games like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
