No slacking off on this one.

With the previously announced Slumbering Sands event rolling out in Pokémon GO, two of the biggest takeaways for the event is the addition of shiny Komala (#775) and a visor-wearing Slakoth (#287) to the game. Players who are able to catch this special Slakoth with plenty of candies to spare will be able to evolve it into a special costumed Vigoroth (#288) and evolve it again for a special Slaking (#289).

Enjoy sleepy summertime vibes with Pokémon known for catching their share of zzz’s.

Trainers interested in expanding their collection of Pokémon wearing stylish headwear are in for a treat with the Pokémon GO Slumbering Sands event. From June 7 at 10:00 a.m. to June 12, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time, Slakoth wearing a visor, Vigoroth wearing a visor, and Slaking wearing a visor will all be available for the first time in Pokémon GO. Enjoy double XP for catching Pokémon, which will come in handy with plenty of sleepy, beachy Pokémon appearing in the wild. Keep an eye out for Psyduck, Slowpoke, Drowzee, Mareep, Slakoth wearing a visor, Oranguru, Sandygast, Munna, and Komala.

Despite the restful theme of this event, there will be plenty of opportunities to exercise your skills as a Pokémon Trainer with research. Complete event-themed Field Research tasks to earn encounters with Psyduck, Drowzee, Mareep, Slakoth wearing a visor, Oranguru, Sandygast, and Komala. Trainers who connect a Pokémon GO Plus + device can enjoy Timed Research opportunities with rewards including Stardust and encounters with Snorlax wearing a nightcap, Slakoth wearing a visor, and Komala.

The event goes yawn with paid Timed Research, which is available for US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Rewards for completing this research include a Komala Backpack avatar item, Stardust, XP, Silver Pinap Berries, encounters with Slakoth wearing a visor and Komala, and more. Trainers must complete the research and claim rewards before June 12, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Don’t snooze on this event, Trainers!
