Latest News: Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Demo Dropped, Splatoon 3 Next Splatfest is Weekend Themed,

Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Demo

Earlier this week, Nintendo released a demo of their upcoming game Mario Vs. Donkey Kong which releases later this month. The demo can be downloaded from the Nintendo Switch eShop and has four different stages for players to try out. I will admit that the demo is rather on the light side as all four stages can be beaten in about five or ten minutes, however, you can play each one as many times as you like and can also play them with a friend on casual or normal mode.

The demo serves as a nice appetizer for those looking forward to playing the full game but it probably isn’t enough to sway those who were already on the fence on picking up the game. If you are interested in trying out the demo for yourself, be sure to download it today or alternatively, you can watch gameplay of the demo below.

Splatoon 3 Weekend Splatfest

Nintendo has revealed what the next Splatfest will be in Splatoon 3. Players will be given the choice of choosing which day of the weekend they prefer the most. Yep, that’s it. It is probably the most uninspiring choice of a Splatfest admitedly but what’s worse, is that there is clearly only one logical choice. It would have to be Team Saturday, surely?

For those that go to school or work a typical 9-5, Friday is still part of a working week and so you can only enjoy whats left of the afternoon. Sunday on the other hand is all great and all, until you realise that Monday is just one sleep away and back to school/work. Saturday, on the other hand, you had the friday afternoon to chill and probably stay up late. You can sleep in Saturday and not have to worry about losing half the day having a lie in and you still have Sunday to relax as well!

Anyhow, silly discourse aside, The “What’s the best day of the weekend?” Splatfest will be hosted from 01:00 am Saturday 17th February until 00:59 am Monday 19th February in Europe and the UK (so Friday evening until Sunday evening in the US).

Super Nintendo World Orlando To Open 2025

Nintendo America has announced on social media that Super Nintendo World will also be coming to the Universal Orlando Resort in 2025. The theme park will will be one of “five immersive worlds” that are opening at the Universal Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando Resort.

Some artisitic renders have been shown to give a general presentation as to what the park will look like but it does seem weird to do that when Universal and Nintendo literally have two other functioning parks that they could literally share photographs of if they were to replicate the rides and attractions of the other parks. Then again, the new renders seem to show attractions that I don’t believe are at the other parks so maybe it will have some new that the other parks don’t have.

That said, more and more Super Nintendo World theme parks can only be a good thing. It gives me hope that we could see one or two Super Nintendo Worlds opening up in Europe at some point. It was reported that Universal had recently closed a deal for potentially developing a park in Bedford United Kingdom and that would certainly make a good starting point in the UK and European as Bedford is not that far from Luton Airport (roughly an hour away). Here’s to even more Super Nintendo Worlds opening up in the near future.

M64 Latest: Four Million View Milestone!!!

On the Miketendo64 front, I don’t have too much news to share except for what games we currently have written EXPlays for as well as what we have coming in a couple of weeks but I will get on that in just a moment. What I would like to give special mention to is that Miketendo64 has recently just passed the four million views milestone. It may not sound much to the bigger websites or popular YouTubers but even still, 4 million is quite an achievement and we are ever so grateful for all of you who have visited our website, read our content and engaged with us. Thank you for spending your time with us and supporting us all these years. We will be celebrating this achievement so be sure to come back here and on X to find out more with the potential of some giveaways very soon.

As for EXPlays, we recently published one for Hitman: Blood Money – Reprisal earlier this week and we will be plan to be working on EXPlays for Mario Vs. Donkey Kong and Tomb Raider I-III Remastered. The latter arrives on Nintendo Switch  just in time for Valentines day so you can spend it with that special someone on February 14th (is there anyone more special than Lara Croft?). As for Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, we expect that to be ready soon after the game’s launch on February 16th.
