A month before the Nintendo Switch could even make its long awaited debut, Fire Emblem made the leap to mobile devices in the form of Fire Emblem HeroesJust two months shy of the apps seventh anniversary, the game has changed in a number of ways, and its story is far from over. Book VII has not long since concluded and Book VIII has now commenced.

In celebration of the mobile application’s ongoing achievements, we’re spending seven days looking back on the books that came before it and remembering some of the main characters that were introduced in each book. Today, we’re visiting Book VIII:

Askr and Embla now walk a path of peace—but in the days leading up to the formation of a formal alliance, a new group from Yggdrasill appeared and cast a shadow over everything.

Ratatoskr, dispatched to assassinate Alfonse, finds herself conflicted and chooses to defect, siding with the Order of Heroes to save her family.

Deceptions lurk around every corner, yet there is no choice but to move forward…
