[Guide] Super Mario Bros. Wonder | Every Pipe-Rock Plateau Wonder Seed & Flower Coin

With Super Mario Bros. Wonder available now on the Nintendo Switch, the time has come to embark on a wonderful 2D adventure. Mario is back with the extended gang, resulting in a playable roster of 12 characters and with eight worlds to conquer in the Flower Kingdom, we’re on hand to walk you guys through how to obtain every Wonder Seed and Flower Coin available.

To kick things off, we’re going to do a quick little walkthrough to explain the purples of Flower Coins, Wonder Flowers, Wonder Seeds and Secret Exits before diving into World 1: Pipe-Rock Plateau:

What are Flower Coins?

Flower Coins are large purple coins that can be found on given stages. Some will be obviously visible when exploring through levels, but others can be hidden and require players to meet a certain requirement to revel them. On stages where Flower Coins are present, there are three to be found and all are required to count towards a level’s complete completion.

What are Wonder Flowers?

Wonder Flowers are an item players can encounter during a level, which once interacted with, unleashes a Wonder Effect that immediately impacts the current stage. Where there is a Wonder Flower, there is always a Wonder Flower waiting to be discovered.

What are Wonder Seeds?

Wonder Seeds are the main collectable this time around, with Mario and friends needing to collect them in order to advance through the game. One Wonder Seed will always be given to the player upon completing a stage, but a second one can be obtained by activating the Wonder Flower and traversing the Wonder Effect to collect the Wonder Seed.

On some levels, it is possible there is a third Wonder Seed available, but in order to acquire it, players will need to discover the Secret Exit in order to obtain it. Wonder Seeds can also be purchased for 100 Purple Coins at Poplin Shops and through completing Challenge levels.

What are Secret Exits?

Not present on every level, Secret Exits are a secondary exit players can discover by taking a different route and encountering a second Flagpole at the end of the level. Jumping on the Flagpole will end the current level and reward players with a new Wonder Seed.

Every World 1: Pipe-Rock Plateau Wonder Seed & Flower Coin:

Welcome to the Flower Kingdom!:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: Following the main path, you will see the Flower Coin surrounded by breakable blocks. Using the power of an Elephant Fruit, smash through the blocks to get the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: This Flower Coin can be found atop a tree. If you struggle to get on top of the tree, using the power of an Elephant Fruit, you can water a nearby flower bud to raise the pipes.

Flower Coin #3: During the Wonder Effect, jump off the pipe that’s crawling like an inchworm to reach this Flower Coin.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: When you reach a line of pipes, you will be able to see the Wonder Flower. Jump into it and the Wonder Effect will commence, causing pipes to pipes to move and a horizontal pipe will begin crawling. Ride the pipes to reach the Wonder Seed.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Piranha Plants on Parade!:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 3

Flower Coin #1: Enter the red pipe to be taken to an area in the background of the stage and proceed all the way to the left to find the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Follow the main path across the musical blocks until you come across the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Nearer to the end of the stage, after the Wonder Flower segment, this Flower Coin can be found on the upper part of the level where Piranha Plants are walking on the ceiling.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: This Wonder Flower can be found easily when following along the main path, bouncing around a singular area. Jump into it and the Wonder Effect will commence, causing Piranha Plants to break out into song. Follow the path to find the Wonder Seed.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Secret Exit / Wonder Seed #3: When the Wonder Effect finishes, you will see three green pipes aimed in different directions. Use the musical blocks to reach the platform above the three green pipes and enter the warp pipe. Follow the path across the new foreground area and enter another pipe to reach a new Flagpole. Jump on it to obtain the Wonder Seed.

Scram, Skeddadlers!:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: Pursue the Skeddadler enemy that is carrying the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Upon discovering a red warp pipe you can enter, jump into it and defeat the Skeddadler to get the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Using the power of an Elephant Fruit, destroy the honeycomb piece below to reach the Flower Coin.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: This Wonder Flower can be seen being carried by a Skeddadler. Jump into it and the Wonder Effect will commence, causing a Super Star meteor shower. Chase down the Skeddadlers to reach the Wonder Seed.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Bulrush Coming Through!:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: Near where you see the first Flower Coin, ground slam on a tree twice and then lure a Bulrush over to your position to charge through the blocks, clearing you a path to the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Where you come across a Talking Flower saying the words, “Bored, bored, bored…”, ground slam on the tree next to it to be taken to a separate screen, in a cloud-based area. Reach the end by heading right and leap into the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: If you choose to ignore the Wonder Effect segment, you can lure a Bulrush into a set of blocks to get the final Flower Coin.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: By leading a Bulrush up a ramp, it will charge into floating blocks, releasing the Wonder Flower. Jump into it and the Wonder Effect will commence, causing a stampede of charging Bulrush which you can then ride to get the Wonder Seed, but you will need to ride past the first Flagpole.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Secret Exit / Wonder Seed #3: If you continued to ride the Bulrush stampede after activating the Wonder Flower, you can get the third Wonder Seed by following the clouds and leaping on to the very, very tall Flagpole at the end of the level.

Here Come the Hoppos:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: Jump on a Hoppo to wedge it into one of the pits and then bounce off of it to reach the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Jump onto a Hoppo to wedge it into a pit between two red pipes to bounce into a new area to get the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Where you see a singular block, opposite a red pipe that needs to be hit, jump onto a nearby Koopa Troopa and take their shell to throw it into the block to get the Flower Coin.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: When you reach the part of the stage where multiple Hoopos are bumping and bouncing into one another, leap into all the blue flower buds to make the Wonder Flower appear. Jump into it and the Wonder Effect will commence, causing Hoops to flood the stage, all bumping into one another, with one very large Hoppo possessing the Wonder Seed.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Rolla Koopa Derby:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: Near the beginning of the stage on some music blocks.

Flower Coin #2: Jump into the blocks after the music blocks to reveal a Propeller Flower. Leap into it to be taken to a new area with the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Near the stage’s checkpoint flag, jump onto a Rolla Koopa and take their shell and throw it into the hill, aiming for its base, to reveal the Flower Coin.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: When you come across the large tree nearer to the end of the level with a handle you can pull on, the Wonder Flower will be revealed. Jump into it and the Wonder Effect will commence, causing new hills and paths to appear. Follow these magical hills to collect 5 Wonder Tokens to make the Wonder Seed appear.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Swamp Pipe Crawl:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: Near the beginning of the level, there will be a pipe you can push to the right, which will drop into place atop another pipe. Enter the completed pipe to access an area in the background and collect the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: After you have collected the first Flower Coin, there is another pipe you can push to the left to gain access to a horizontal warp pipe and get the second Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: After the unbreakable bricks, there is a pipe you can enter to gain access to the background and collect the Flower Coin.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: In an area where there are two pipes that you can push, one high and one low, use the lower one to push into place to build a bridge, so you can then move the higher up pipe and push it into place. With the Wonder Flower revealed, jump into it and the Wonder Effect will commence, causing pipes to move, including one that will move like an inchworm for players to ride to the Wonder Flower.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Angry Spikes and Sinkin’ Pipes:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: Strike the flower bud near a Spike, causing a pipe to be revealed. Enter it to reach an area in the background and obtain the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Jump onto the music blocks a Spike is standing on and defeat him to reach the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: After the checkpoint flag, where you see a Spike with Piranha Plants behind him, stand on the pipe to ride it down and get on the same level as them and defeat all the enemies and hit the blue flower bud to make the Flower Coin appear.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: Strike the blue flower bud and then stand on the pipe with the Talking Flower that says the pipe can’t hold the weight of both of you to reach a new screen. Your character will then fall into the Wonder Flower. causing the Wonder Effect to activate, this time a musical segment where your preferred character is elevated upwards and has to survive the onslaught of multiple Spikes.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Bulrush Express:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 3

Flower Coin #1: Jump off the stampeding Bulrush onto the Swirlypod to get the first Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Near a pink pipe, jump off the stampeding Bulrush to collect the second Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Jump off the stampeding Bulrush onto the large Swirlypod and leap into the Flower Coin.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: Immediately after entering the red pip, you’ll be taken to a new area where you will see the Wonder Flower straight away. Jump into it for Wonder Effect to commence, causing a Bulrush stampede that you will need to ride all the way to the end.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Secret Exit / Wonder Seed #3: Instead of going through the red pipe, as long as you have the Elephant or Drill power-up, you can smash through the blocks to enter a different pipe, reaching a new area with a new Flagpole for you to jump onto. Finding this exit unlocks the Sproings in the Twilight Forest stage.

Sproings in the Twilight Forest:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: With the Elephant power-up, break through a blocked barrier to reach the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: During a section of the stage where you will see the Flower Coin on a ledge above you, there is a tree truck you can wall jump off of, to reach the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: During the Wonder Effect the third Flower Coin can be seen in a low area where you will need to crouch in order to be able to reach it.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: When you come across a glowing Sproing, defeat it to make the Wonder Flower appear. Jump into it for Wonder Effect to commence, causing Mario to become stretched and springy like the Sproing. Every time you make Mario duck, items can appear, including the Wonder Seed, nearer to the end of the level.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Cosmic Hoppos:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 2

Flower Coin #1: As you are ascending upwards, there will be a pit you can knock a Hoppo into to reach this Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Continuing your ascent upwards, there is a Smogrin you can bounce off of to reach this Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Where you see a Hoppo to the left of the screen, blocking a path to another area, use a Smogrin to defeat the Hoppo and head left. Knock the two Hoppos into the pits to get the Flower Coin.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: Near the end of the level, instead of going right to the Flagpole, go up and to the left to find a new area and hit the glowing spot on the far-left wall, causing the Wonder Flower to appear. Jump into it for Wonder Effect to commence, causing a Hoppo to glow blow, jump on it and be propelled into space and then navigate to the right, avoiding Hoppos and spikes, in order to reach the Wonder Seed.

Wonder Seed #2: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Badge Challenge: Parachute Cap I:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 1

Flower Coin #1: Strike the flower bud and make your way to the platform with the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Once you’ve reached the checkpoint flag, head to the top platform above to collect the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Right at the top of the Flagpole.

Wonder Seed #1: Complete the stage to get the Wonder Seed.

Badge Challenge: Wall-Climb Jump I:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 1

Flower Coin #1: When beginning your ascent, head left.

Flower Coin #2: Use a wall-climb jump to reach the rotating block and jump up to the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Once you have reached the top, wall-climb off the left-hand side wall and jump off to collect the Flower Coin.

Wonder Seed #1: Reach the end of the stage and climb onto the Flagpole.

Expert Badge Challenge: Jet Run I:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 1

Flower Coin #1: Following the main path, leap into it to collect the first Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #2: Following the main path, leap into it to collect the second Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: Following the main path, leap into it to collect the third Flower Coin.

Wonder Seed #1: Complete the stage to get the Wonder Seed.

Wiggler Race: Mountaineering!:

Wonder Seeds: 1

Wonder Seed #1: Reach the end of the stage before Wriggler to be given the Wonder Seed.

Pipe-Rock Plateau Palace:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 1 | Royal Seeds: 1

Flower Coin #1: After the checkpoint flag, where you will see a Wonder Flower, there is also a flower bud in a small gap, near the ceiling. Using a Dry Bones to bounce off, reach the flower bud to make the Flower Coin appear.

Flower Coin #2: The second Flower Coin can be found shortly after the previous one, surrounded by blocks. Using the Elephant power-up, you can smash through them to collect the Flower Coin.

Flower Coin #3: During the Wonder Effect segment, the third Flower Coin can be seen floating above acid. A pipe above it will fall, but players will need to be quick to leap onto the pipe to get the Flower Coin and leap to safety.

Wonder Flower / Wonder Seed #1: Near the checkpoint flag, the Wonder Flower is easy to spot. Jump into it for Wonder Effect to commence, causing pipes to move and follow the path. Follow the route to get the Wonder Seed.

Royal Seed #1: Beat Bowser Jr. to complete the stage.

KO Arena: Pipe-Rock Rumble:

Flower Coins: 3 | Wonder Seeds: 1

Flower Coin #1: Beat the KO Arena stage in 180 seconds or less.

Flower Coin #2: Beat the KO Arena stage in 120 seconds or less.

Flower Coin #3: Beat the KO Arena stage in 70 seconds or less.

Wonder Seed #1: Complete the stage to get the Wonder Seed.

Break Time! Hurry, Hurry:

Wonder Seeds: 1
