Nintendo has sent out a statement to those who have registered for updates on the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 collector’s edition. In the statement, Nintendo has informed that “due to unforeseen logistical challenges” pre-orders for the CE will not be able to open before July 29th, 2022. They apologize for the inconvenience and go on to say that pre-orders for the CE will open in September as a separate package that will include all the contents previously announced (artbook, steelbook and outer box covering) with the exception of the actual game itself which will no longer be a part of the edition.
Thank you for registering your interest in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition from My Nintendo Store.
Due to unforeseen logistical challenges, we are unable to open pre-orders for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition before the game launches on July 29th. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
To give customers the flexibility to purchase and enjoy the game at launch, we will now be offering the contents of the Collector’s Edition (soft cover concept art book, steel case and outer box packaging) as a separate purchase at a price that does not include the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 software.
This means you can buy the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 game when it launches on July 29th, and have a chance to pre-order the Collector’s Edition contents on My Nintendo Store later in September.

People who are already registered for the updates from My Nintendo will be among the first to be informed when pre-orders for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition open for September.
With how the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition is being handled, it is no wonder why so many fans are frustrated. Starting with the debacle over the pre-orders from the North American My Nintendo site and now this, it seems like Nintendo have slipped up when they moved the launch forward for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 from September to July.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think this makes best pf a poor situation or do you think it should have been handled a lot better? Do let us know in the comments below.
