Zelda's Master Cycle

As Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity can finally joyously celebrate the release of its Wave 1: Pulse of the Ancients DLC, we feel it is only natural to dive back into a game we love so much and experience the new character, content, and weapons, for ourselves. So, on that subject, the following is a guide on how to obtain Zelda’s Master Cycle weapon:

Zelda Master Cycle

How to Get Zelda’s Master Cycle in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity:

First and foremost, much like Link’s Flail (check out our guide for Link’s Flail here), Zelda’s Master Cycle is only available as part of the game’s Wave 1 DLC, it should go without saying that in order to even try unlocking it, players are expected to actually have either the Expansion Pass or have purchased the Pulse of the Ancients DLC separately. Additionally, with the DLC purchased and downloaded, players are also required to update their game to version 1.2.0.

With the game updated and DLC purchased, players will need to start up the game as they normally would, only now, as the map loads, so should some additional EX challenges. Only, ignore them for now and instead opt to make your way to the EX Royal Ancient Lab, which if you struggle to find it, can be found in Services, at the bottom of the list.

After a brief exchange between Robbie and Purah, new EX Research Quests can be seen, starting with Roll Out the Research. By meeting its requirements and completing any associated regular and EX challenge to earn the required materials. Unlike Link’s Flails, which can be essentially acquired upon completing three EX Research Quests, Zelda’s Master Cycle requires a lot more work with a total of twelve Research Quests. From Roll Out the Research, you will need to complete the next corresponding Research Quests:

Research Branch One:

  • The Technology of Disassembly
  • A Helping Claw
  • Magnificent Mass
  • Power Play: Magnetic Mayhem

Research Branch Two: (Branching South from Roll Out the Research)

  • The Menace of Vicious Monsters
  • Power Play: Bombs Away
  • Power Play: Nice and Icy

Research Branch Three: (Branching South from The Menace of Vicious Monsters)

  • The Source of Strength
  • The Many Sources of Strength
  • Power Play: Go with the Flow

*Once you complete the Top-Secret Request quest, the Master Cycle weapon for Zelda is now unlocked, congratulations.

Once the Master Cycle has been obtained, new quests will appear on the overall Hyrule map and by meeting their requirements, players can unlock new combos for Zelda. They will also be able to play the EX Zelda: Master Cycle challenge.

Furthermore, completing the Top-Secret Request quest also opens the way to two other quests that reward new versions of the Master Cycle. However, you will need to complete two other research quests that will increase the Master Cycle’s attack power beforehand.
