Littlewood: (The Explanation)

Littlewood is a charming pixel adventure game that puts you in charge of rebuilding your own town from the ground up. You play as a legendary hero who has already been on an epic quest to defeat a dark wizard. However, the hero has no recollection of ever being the hero and has lost all of his memories.

After the victory over the dark wizard, the hero is tasked with rebuilding their town with the help of his friends. The hero starts by building houses for them all and gathering the necessary materials to construct them like wood from cutting down trees and stone from rocks. As the days go by, other villagers from other regions will come to your town with a desire to make it their home as well.

There are some definite Animal Crossing/Stardew Valley vibes from this game as you set out to rebuild your town and gather materials. You are not restricted to your own town either, as you can visit other areas to recruit more villagers for your own town and acquire materials that can’t be found locally. You have a stamina bar that will gradually reduce as you partake in activities. When the stamina bar is empty, your character will pass out and wake up the next day with only a some stamina being recovered. You can, however, refill your stamina bar fully by getting a good night’s sleep in your bed at your house.

As you become mayor of your little town, you will take on more and more requests from the villagers that call your town their home. These include adding decoration items to their homes, building shops, cafés, among other things. You will certainly be kept busy as all of the villlagers require something to help make their everyday lives easier.

Littlewood is packed full of charm and has plenty to keep you occupied day to day. It is easy enough to come back to, even for short periods and there is never any pressure to complete requests. If charming simulation games appeal to you then this little gem is another good game to look out for. It releases in North America on February 25th and will be making its way to Europe and other regions soon.
