When it comes to announcing new fighters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the reveal trailers just keep getting better and better. From King. K Rool to Banjo & Kazooie and the more recent Sephiroth, the quality is outstanding. Only now, Sakurai and the team, along with Monolith Soft, have managed to take the latest reveal to new heights.
Kicking off a Nintendo Direct, came what appeared to be a trailer of a possible Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sequel. Pyra had one day gone missing and Rex would stop at nothing to find her. As the events of the trailer continued, he would eventually come upon her, only to have her reveal her disappearance was due to being invited to Smash.
With a new Xenoblade Chroniclesrep arriving in March, the time to throw down against Shulk has arrived, only Pyra is not coming along. Rex might not be on her side as her Driver, but players will be able to swap between Pyra and Mythra, with Rex making an appearance during the Final Smash. Along with a new fighter, also comes a brand new stage, which just so happens to be Gramps and the promise of an eventual Pyra amiibo.

In 2015, when rumours of the NX and Zelda U were everywhere, my brother and I started Miketendo64 and we've been running it ever since. As the Editor-in-Chief, I have attended video gaming events in three different countries, been to preview events, and penned more than 4,000 articles to date, ranging from news, to features, reviews, interviews and guides. I love gaming and I love all things Nintendo. I also love Networking, so don't be afaid to reach out.
