The Switch is home to tons of great indie games, from Stardew Valley, Hades, and Dead Cells. The Switch gives you the best lineup of Indie games. All the games I mentioned are fantastic, but one game stands above them all… Hollow Knight! Hollow knight by Team Cherry is my favorite Metroidvania game. If you haven’t bought the game yet, read on, and I’ll tell you why you should give this masterpiece a look.

If you love Metroid games, Hollow Knight is for you. With the backtracking, puzzle-solving, and weapon upgrades, it is like Metroid with bugs. There are hidden areas sprinkled throughout the game that takes exploration with the right items to unlock every secret area, it is brimming with Metroid influences. The isolated atmosphere and subtle music are icing on the Metroid cake.

If anyone is looking for a challenge, Hollow Knight is the Dark Souls of indie games. Some bosses take multiple times before you can figure out the code to crack to beat a boss. There are rage-inducing moments at every corner. Even low-level enemies can post a threat to the little knight. The game makes the player think hard before they rush into battle. Some moves work better than others, and some bosses have different weak spots.

The game has tons of content. From challenges to fighting new bosses and exploring new areas. You really do get a lot of bang for your buck. I have spent over 100 hours on Hollow Knight, and I still haven’t found everything. Hollow Knight is a game for fans of Metroidvania fans to sink their teeth into until the sequel to Metroid Prime comes out. It truly is an incredible game.
