As previously seen with a number of ports and Deluxe releases for Switch, while the original developer retains some involvement, typically other companies have been involved and Pikmin 3 Deluxe is no different. Although Nintendo was still involved, they were not alone as Eighting was at hand to help out.
Better known for being the developer behind the fairly recent Zoids Wild: King of Blast, Eighting are no strangers to working with big companies what with having helped Capcom with the likes of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
It turns out, Eighting helped lead the development and were responsible for the new additions to give Pikmin 3 the Deluxe treatment. It’s just a shame that current projections seem to show Eighting’s hard work isn’t getting all the attention it deserves as the recent release does not seem to be performing as well as its Wii U release, since physical launch sales are down 18.5% in the UK.
Fortunately, the sales numbers do not reflect eShop sales, but only time will tell just how popular this revival is.
