Today’s Pokémon Direct was focused on The Crown Tundra Expansion Pass for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. It highlighted a number of details about the expansion and revealed the release date in when it will be available to download.

The Crown Tundra Expansion Pass will go live on October 22nd. Players will be able to form teams of for and adventure together in order to capture Legendary Pokémon from past games. You will also be able to take part take part in the Galar Star Tournament. Team up with another trainer or Gym Leader of your choice and fight together to claim victory!

Special Ash’s Pikachu will be available to redeem by using special codes that will be distributed via various means. The code P1KACHUGET can be used right now!

Pokémon Home will be getting an update later this year to make it compatible with Pokémon GO. This will allow players to transfer compatible Pokémon from Pokémon GO into Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

A special Melmetal will also be rewarded as a mystery gift in Pokémon Home for a period of time when the compatibility update goes live. Players will be able to transfer Melmetal into Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

One final piece of news to come from the Pokémon Direct is that on November 6, 2020, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be available to purchase with their respective Expansion Passes on cartridge.
