Are you looking to throw an awesome Nintendo party with all of your friends? Check out this guide to learn how to throw an awesome Nintendo party.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Nintendo has sold over 740 million consoles worldwide?

If you’ve ever played a Nintendo game, this impressive figure should come as no surprise. Over the years, Nintendo has continued to revolutionize the way we play video games. It’s hard to name a character who’s more iconic than Mario himself.

Do you want to pay homage to your favorite games by throwing a memorable party all of your friends will love? Keep reading for the best tips to plan your Nintendo party.

Get Festive with Food

You can’t have a gaming party without some tasty snacks to fuel the fun. If you want to take your party to the next level, there are plenty of unique recipes to keep the Nintendo theme going.

One fun example is to buy or bake star-shaped sugar cookies. With some yellow and black frosting, you’ll be able to make your own Super Stars. If you enjoy cupcakes, you can frost them with red, green, and white frosting so they look like mushrooms. For a centerpiece cake, you can ask a bakery to print the Super Mario logo in the middle of your cake.

For something more substantial, you can’t go wrong with pizza. If you order out, you can decorate the pizza boxes so they look like Question Boxes.

Have Enough Gear for Your Nintendo Party

The more gaming gear you have, the more people can play. Although it’s okay to take turns, you should get as many controllers as you can to maximize playing time. However, since it’s a party, even guests who are sitting out will still be entertained by the conversation and atmosphere.

Did you know that there are also some special add-ons you can get to amplify your gaming experience? For example, certain Nintendo Switch accessories can make your hands feel more comfortable and even improve your skills. While you don’t have to spend a fortune on your party, your guests will appreciate your efforts to make their experience more fun and unique.

Having a big television with beautiful graphics is a must-have for any video game party. Since tons of people will be huddled around one screen, it’s important to make sure everyone can see the action.

Create a Comfy Gaming Space

Depending on how many people you’ll be inviting, you may need to buy some more furniture to seat everyone. Nothing is more uncomfortable than the standard folding plastic chair. Since the main event of your party will involve sitting to play games, you need to make sure everyone has a nice place to relax.

Aside from seating, there are other things you can do to make your space more inviting. Having some snacks in large bowls will allow guests to grab a quick handful while they’re playing. Good snack choices that will keep everyone’s hands clean include pretzels, finger sandwiches, and candies that aren’t sticky or going to melt.

If you want to liven up the environment, you could even get some Nintendo decorations like posters and print-outs to hang on your walls.

Be Inclusive and Fair

Although Nintendo games are easier to play than most, it’s unlikely that everyone will be on the same level. This is especially true if some of your guests don’t have their own Nintendo consoles. The good news is that these games are tons of fun no matter how experienced you are.

With this in mind, try to pair up guests who have the same skills during matches if necessary. In team games, it’s most fair to divide the experts among all groups so everyone has a level playing field. If everyone is going against each other, try to keep the mood light and playful.

If you’re inviting lots of guests, you might have trouble maintaining a balance. Although you should focus on having a good time, keep an eye out for anyone who’s sitting out. Make sure that everyone has equal playing time to spread the fun.

Consider Dressing Like Super Mario Party Characters

If you’re throwing a birthday party for kids or adults with a good sense of humor, Nintendo accessories will be a big hit. Mustaches, hats, and gloves are a few simple accessories you can get for everyone to wear. If everyone is committed to the party theme, you can even tell guests to dress up in full costume.

Not only will costumes and accessories make the games feel more real, but you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take incredible pictures. Since you’re putting a lot of thought into this party, you better have some hilarious photos to memorialize this event!

Make Party Planning Easy with a GameTruck

After reading the previous tips, you may feel like planning your own party is too much work. If you want to take all of the stress out of hosting a party, you also have the option to rent a GameTruck. This is a great way to play tons of games like Mario Party on Switch with all of your friends at once.

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, GameTruck is a company that sends a big party bus equipped with all kinds of gaming gear to your location. All you have to do is book your truck, invite some friends over, and step inside for an awesome time. Since there are tons of controllers and big screens, no one will have to wait for a turn to play.

One detail that’s worth noting is that GameTruck provides more than just Nintendo consoles and games. If you have your heart set on a strictly-Nintendo party, you can get in touch with the company and see if they can accommodate you. Either way, this option is a guaranteed blast for anyone who isn’t big on party planning.
