Last week nintendo.com’s listing for RiME professed the game to now have a Winter 2017 release and with no official word from the game’s Developer and Publisher, we took it upon ourselves to dig to the bottom of the story.
So we spoke to Tantalus Media what with them handling the Switch port and we got in touch with Grey Box and today we have the following official statement from the parties involved.
“RiME is in active development for Nintendo Switch and does not have an official release date at this time. We are committed to giving fans a high-quality experience and will share more information with the community through our official Twitter and Facebook when it is available.”
So while not specifically stated, it seems the release date is simply a placeholder put in place by Nintendo, instead of the usual TBD. As soon as there is any change and a release date does come, we’ll be sure to share right here at miketendo64.com!
