None of Nintendo’s great franchises had as rough of a start as Metroid did with its NES installment. In Zero Mission, the company was able to unearth the brilliant game that hid beneath all of the flaws caused by either poor design choices or hardware limitations. Along the way, they showed how a remake is properly done and highlighted the invaluable contributions the title made to the industry as a whole.
