The Duskbloods | FromSoftware Delays Switch 2 Exclusive to 2027 for Final Balancing

FromSoftware confirms its multiplayer Switch 2 exclusive is moving out of 2026, citing the need for additional time to refine game rules and balancing after the August network test.

FromSoftware has confirmed that its Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods will not launch in 2026. The studio announced on October 29, 2026, that the title is moving to 2027.

In its statement, FromSoftware noted that development is already at the final adjustment stage but that additional time is needed for final adjustments to game rules and balancing. The decision follows the August 2026 network test, during which the studio observed strong player interest in the core concepts of combat, strategic depth, and player expression. The studio apologised to players who have been waiting since the game’s reveal during the original Nintendo Switch 2 presentation.

No specific 2027 window has been given. The delay removes one of the higher-profile third-party exclusives from Nintendo’s late-2026 calendar. The Duskbloods is a multiplayer-focused title (up to eight players) blending elements of FromSoftware’s action-game style with PvPvE mechanics, gothic and steampunk aesthetics, and the concept of Bloodsworn characters competing for First Blood.

While the delay is disappointing for those hoping for a 2026 release, the extra polish is consistent with FromSoftware’s history of prioritising balance and stability, particularly after mixed impressions from the network test (which included server issues on the first day).
