The Sky’s the Limit!

Not much else has been revealed about the set yet, but we do know this won’t be the only Rayquaza-focused expansion this year. Mega Evolution—Delta Reign has also been announced for the physical Pokémon TCG and is set to release worldwide on November 6, 2026, with its Japanese counterpart, Storm Emeralda, arriving earlier on July 31, 2026.

UPDATE (23/07/26): Following the initial reveal of the upcoming Ruler of the Skies (B4) expansion, scheduled to launch on 30 July 2026, The Pokémon Company has now shared more details about the new set. You can find the full announcement right here:

Look up, and you might catch a glimpse of a fearsome Pokémon twisting through the night sky. Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket’s next expansion, Ruler of the Skies, launches on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. PDT, and marks the debut of Mega Rayquaza ex!

You can show off your new cards with some cool covers and backdrops featuring the menacing Mega Rayquaza, available starting Saturday, August 1.

What’s New with the Release of Ruler of the Skies?

This expansion comes with a few important updates to core game features:

  • You will now be able to share your decks with other players using 2D pattern codes.
  • When you obtain a card included in multiple booster packs, it will be registered in the card dex for all corresponding booster packs. This change will also apply to cards you already own.
  • If certain conditions are fulfilled when opening a booster pack, the next time a booster pack from the same expansion is opened, a ♦♦♦♦ or higher card will be guaranteed.

For more details about these updates, check the in-game news after the expansion launches!

Plus, new elite deck gift missions will be available from late July to late October. If you complete these missions, you can obtain a Fighting-type deck featuring Mega Lucario ex from Pulsing Aura and Hitmonchan ex from Mega Rising. With these powerful Pokémon ex cards, your opponents won’t know what hit them!

Event Overview:

There will be plenty of events you can participate in throughout the summer to sharpen your skills and expand your collection.

  • Late July to Late October: Complete handy card collection missions to obtain Trainer cards that will support your deck strategies, including Leaf, Sabrina, and Red.
  • Late July to Early August: Log in and battle to complete Summer Event Missions and earn booster packs and other helpful items.
