Captain Loggins!

Picture this, it’s a quiet Sunday afternoon, just gone 1pm and suddenly there’s a ping on your phone. Not a dramatic ping, but a ping nonetheless.

Soft.

Quaint.

Completely non important.

And yet, nonchalantly you find yourself scooping your phone up from the grey coffee table in front of you and you check your notifications.

Being a quiet Sunday, instead of nonstop pins and highlights depicting the day’s news and events, there’s just one.

But it’s a big one.

Fellow Nintendo media outlet, My Nintendo News, has just posted a story about a new Nintendo pop-up store in the United Kingdom. We previously had one at Westfield in Shepherd’s Bush last year, but now there’s another one and judging by the read up, the new one puts the previous store to shame, which in itself, is quite an achievement.

Sure, the previous store highlighted a handful of IPs such as Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, Kirby, Animal Crossing and Donkey Kong, but each IP were represented by a large selection of items that upon two visits, I didn’t leave empty handed.

But, unlike the previous store, which had its own space, this new pop-up store is only available inside a singular Argos store on Tottenham Court Road, in London.

The article stated the collaboration between Nintendo and this one particular Argos store took seven months to become a reality and immediately, my mind began to race.

Yes, there store is meant to be sticking around for a couple of months, but it’s a quiet Sunday, 13:02pm and I wasn’t doing anything else.

“Could I go today?” I pondered.

“Could I make it in time?”

I checked Google, the Argos store in question was due to close at 18:00.

“I’ve got time.”

I then proceeded to check train times and train service, it would require a bus, a train, a quick ride on the Elizabeth line and a six minute walk.

“Not even a two hour journey.”

I packed a bag, threw on my Miketendo64 T-Shirt and off I went.

On a bus…

On a train…

On the Elizabeth Line…

On a six minute walk…

And then I was there!

The big red sign with the classic white lettering on it, spelling “Argos” drew my attention immediately, as if it were a neon light.

It’s captivating…

Alluring…

And when I dropped my gaze, I could see part of the Nintendo Experience Zone on display in the window.

“This is the place, alright!”

Without further delay, I breached the doors of Argos with plenty of time to spare and off I went, photographing everything I saw, taking it all in, before spending another small fortune.

Had to be done, right?

But that’s enough words for now, it’s time for some photos:

In terms of the selection of products on show, from a decent range of LEGO, to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie products, amiibo, there was plenty of variety. Even Metroid toys and a Samus helmet plush were present, which wasn’t previously available at the last Nintendo pop-up store.

But by speaking with staff, although my visit took place on Sunday, the 19th of April, 2026, they confirmed the collaboration commenced two days prior on Friday, the 17th of April. It’s a trial period for now but one that is meant to stick around for a couple of months so for anyone who wants to check it out, they’re more than welcome to try at their own leisure, rather than doing it in an entirely random fashion, just because it was a quiet Sunday afternoon and you have nothing better to do!

Until next time, keep on gaming!
