Tomodachi Life begins now!
If you are looking forward to Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, then you may be delighted to know that you can get a jump start on it now that a demo is available now in the Nintendo Switch eShop. The Tomodachi Life Living The Dream – Welcome Version demo allows you to create up to three Miis and gives you access to a hamster costume.
Progress in the demo can be transferred over to the full game and for anyone who choices not to play the demo but still hopes they can obtain the hamster costume in-game, we can confirm you can do just that.
We will be uploading gameplay of the demo and sharing it here as soon as we are able to.

About Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream:
Become the caretaker of an island full of silliness, drama, love, and other surprises!
Absurd situations await as you populate your island with Mii™ characters based on yourself, family, friends, or original creations. Get to know them, design a world for them to explore, and watch them come to life in the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream game for the Nintendo Switch™ system.
Create Mii characters based on family, friends, or your own original ideas: Your experience in the game depends on the characters you create to live on your island. There are a few ways to build and collect Mii characters.
- From Scratch: Build Mii characters from scratch using a robust profile system. Get every little detail right!
- Get Help: Build Mii characters by answering some simple questions. It’s the quick-and-easy route!
- Exchange with friends: Send your Mii and Palette House workshop creations to a friend’s system nearby via local wireless*.
Get to know Mii: Learn about your characters’ likes and dislikes, their relationships, and more as you participate in the melodrama that is their lives
- Take care of Mii: Give your Mii characters food, clothes, treasures, and more to make their lives a little nicer. Sometimes they’ll love what they get! Other times…not so much. But don’t worry, they’ll always tell you what they do and do not like.
- Level Mii up: A Mii will level up when their happiness gauge maxes out. Want to make them even happier? Reward them with gifts like quirks, expressions, and more.
- Befriend Mii: Friendships between Mii characters can go in all sorts of directions. Characters might end up becoming best friends, living together, or having fights and holding grudges. Over time, their relationship may grow and blossom into something else.
- Pick Mii up: If one of your Mii characters is sitting inside moping, you can simply pick them up and place them near another character so they can chat and hang out.
- Pop in on Mii: Once your island is hopping, you can pop in on your creations as they chill at home. Decorate their homes and give them the opportunity to move in together and create their own community.
Customize their world and shape the landscape: Make your island a unique and fun place for your Mii characters to live! Design your island and place homes, stores, restaurants, and more to supply events and entertainment for your community
Buy stuff for your Miis: You can shop to your heart’s content at various stores on your island. Check out the shops regularly to see what’s available!
Explore your island facilities: Here are a few locations you’ll unlock as you progress through the game.
- Wishing Fountain: Collect donations. Use in-game money to buy stuff. Give stuff to Miis to make them happy. Repeat daily.
- Fresh Kingdom Food Mart: Load up a shopping basket with drinks, sweets, and other munchies to fill your Miis’ bellies.
- Where & Wear Clothing: Clothing shop with a stylish selection of apparel and custom designs.
- T&C Reno Home Supply: Revamp rooms with a little help from this home-supply store.
- Quik Build Amenities: Sells all sorts of things that can be placed around the island.
- Marketplace: From great finds to unique mystery bags, you might be surprised by what you discover.
- Foto-Tomo Photography: Make memories with your residents via absurd photo ops.
- Mii News Station: Your source for the latest island news.
Create fun stuff: Create pets, food, clothing, and items like books and video games to suit each Mii on your island! Anything you make in the game can be exchanged with other players on their devices via local wireless*.
