Less than two years to go.

With the second Super Mario Bros. Movie releasing in cinemas on April 3, 2026, Nintendo has revealed via the Nintendo Today! app that The Legend of Zelda live-action movie will debut in cinemas on March 26, 2027.

While no casting news has been shared for the upcoming film, we do know that Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad will be producing the film. Wes Ball has been given directing duties and the film is being jointly financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc.. Nintendo is financing the majority of the film, with Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. handling the theatrical distribution.
