Wave 3 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass is now available and introduces a new hero to enlist and a new Challenge mode. The Challenge Mode is the Archsage’s Gauntlet and allows you to only use one of the Ouroboros six. You have to fight your way through waves of enemies and enlist the help of heroes you have unlocked during your adventure through Aionios. There are three different challenges that can be played on one of three difficulties.

Beating the challenges with a B Rank required to unlock on outfit for one character and an A rank to unlock an outfit for another. The cool thing about these outfits are that they are based on characters from previous entries in the series like Shulk, Melia, Nia, Jin, Reyn, and Brighid.

If you are only interested in the outfits and are not really bothered with slugging it out, you can unlock the same outfits on the Easy Difficulty. Alternatively, you can also purchase color variants of these Throwback outfits from the Blue X-change Nopon. They cost 3000 blue Nopon stones each, and you can only obtain them by taking part in the Archsage’s Gauntlet. That being the case, you could always play whichever challenge is easy enough for you and grind for the stones you need until you unlock the outfit(s) you are after.

That is all there is to it, to be honest. The Archsage’s Gauntlet can be a bit of a pain if you are trying without the best possible build for that character, and a large amount of luck is required if you stand a chance with getting the best possible pulls or emblems and heroes during waves. What we can advice is making sure you have the best possible gems attached to your your chosen character for maximum chance of success.

Before we finish up this short guide, here is a gallery of Noah and Co. sporting their new outfits.
