Just like in Splatoon and Splatoon 2, you can use amiibo to unlock special gear in Splatoon 3. The kind of gear you can unlock depends on which amiibo you use. Not all kinds of amiibo can be used however, as only the Splatoon series amiibo are compatible with the only exception being the Inkling Girl Super Smash Bros. Series amiibo who works just like the Inkling Girl Splatoon series amiibo and gives the same rewards.
How To Use amiibo
To use amiibo to unlock the Splatoon 3 amiibo gear rewards, you must first go to the amiibo box in the Square. Press A and you will be prompted to scan an amiibo. The rest is pretty straight forward in that you take your amiibo an put it against the NFC reader in your Joy-Con or Pro Controller.
If you have used the amiibo to save gear and stuff in previous Splatoon games, you should be able to get all the rewards they have for you straight away. You will then be prompted on whether you wish to delete the old data for new (we opted to keep the old data). If you have not used the amiibo before, you will be asked to register the amiibo first before you can use it. Follow the on-screen instructions and soon your amiibo pal will come to life and give you a gift. To get the other gifts, you will need to increase your level by taking part in Turf Wars.
