The Gamescom 2020 Digital Event is a little over a month away and the list of affiliated partners is growing. As of the writing of this article, there are 85 confirmed partners for the event. This includes the likes of AAA publishers like Bethesda, EA, Ubisoft, and Bandai Namco and plenty of smaller but equally important publishers like Merge Games, Zordix, and The Game Bakers.
What is interesting is that Nintendo has yet to confirm their partnership with the event. Nintendo has had a presence at Gamescom as a physical event over the years. It could well be that with Nintendo, yet to announce any further titles for 2020, maybe holding off confirming their presence until they have officially announced what games they have planned for the rest of the year.
That could be a bit of a long shot or wishful thinking on my behalf. I mean, Nintendo has yet to hold a digital event of their own when E3 2020 was canceled. Still, like many others, I remain hopeful that Nintendo will reveal their cards soon enough.
