Once more another Theme Week is in full effect here at Miketendo64 and we’re all about Animal Crossing!
When we announced the latest theme week, it was part of an announcement for a giveaway. One lucky winner was given chosen and won a digital code for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but as part of participation, we asked our followers why Animal Crossing is so special with them and we can’t help but share some of those answers here. Please enjoy!
What makes AC special to me is that its a fun cute game where you can just relax and enjoy it, it makes you happy playing it.

@ChibiLobo, look! 😊
AC is special to me because it's a relaxing and wholesome game without taking it too seriously.
It's comforting like a warm cup of cocoa.

It's the ultime chill game, time for some Switch cutness 😼😻🦅🦁 pic.twitter.com/b2MZRw6o8h

@lady_sugarcube thanks for tagging me!
Animal Crossing was the first game that really gave me a sense that I didn't need to rush. It allowed me to explore and enjoy the environment at my own pace, and make me feel at ease. It really helped in a turbulent time in my life.
— Little Wolf (@ChibiLobo) March 10, 2020
Animal Crossing helped me during my childhood because I did not have many friends and spent a lot of time at home. Playing AC made me feel unique and missed when the villagers got happy for you and reacted to your actions ingame. You could see the relationship grow each day!
— Nurr (@nurr19miau) March 10, 2020
This game connected me and my best friend on the GameCube back in the day. We poured 100’s of hours into this game and I would love to reconnect with him through this game once again. Haven’t played an animal crossing game since. This game is truest a home away from home.
— PENGUIN-SNACKS (@dawoodink) March 10, 2020
You can't loose in it. I'm really, REALLY BAD in most videogames, and I just want to relax a bit 😁
— Patrick S (@PatbenSte) March 17, 2020
everything. I am somehow always at peace while plaing it. Also playing it together with friends is always so much fun.

Just the ability to be able to relax & just enjoy myself without an absolute goal which I think is amazing.
— Josh Dilla⁶⁴ (@deeatombomb) March 11, 2020
I saw a video for the Wii version on the Nintendo Channel a week before the Christmas, thought it looked fantastic – so excited to get it the day after Christmas. The most played game on the family Wii between my sister and I.
— bc2014 (@bc201401) March 16, 2020
It's like the perfect game if you want to forget about everything while having a chill time.
Which, due to everything that's happening right now, sounds like the best moment for it to release.— Nauzet Cabrera (@Youabra) March 17, 2020
That I can relax on the beach without getting the Coronavirus! pic.twitter.com/1JlBre4qxN

Living in an island full of talking animals, what's better than that?
— rohan 🍃 (@rohan3dd) March 10, 2020
AC has helped me trough my lowest points of life. I’m not in the best financial position right now and I won’t be able to buy it myself. Thanks for the opportunity to win it.💕

this is enough reason…❤😍💕 pic.twitter.com/CfeBUanpQW

I haven't played any Animal crossing ever, but the amount of hype behind that game makes me wanna play that game. Have played Stardew valley before and I heard the game is much similar to it.

Animal Crossing lets me live a life I wish I could IRL🥺 I wanna be neighbors with singing dogs and have an island that I get to decide how I want it🥺🥺🥺 The game is so pure and I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t like it

Because I've never played any Animal Crossing titles before, this will be my first. From all the information that has been presented, this game is unique. That itself already special for me.
— alcyuiza (@kanazes) March 10, 2020
Animal Crossing is special to me because I used to use it to go to a friends house to get away from home and relax to the soundtrack and do menial tasks while talking with friends
— Gabé (@GabrielDMantoan) March 12, 2020
Hmmm. A lot does but I’m going with interacting with the animals I love how they all have diff personalities and you end up feeling like you’re really part of the group and wanting to help them.
— lordlamb (@lordlamb2) March 10, 2020
what makes this game special to me is that it provides me with a chance to have a peaceful, but most importantly: successful life. I can achieve my goals and pay off my debt, and enjoy it
— Revelore (@heartfullofhell) March 10, 2020

— a ❤️ 1 (@zaciansc) March 10, 2020
Animal Crossing is special to me because its atmosphere is so different, so "happy", so "good mood", that it become a useful game during difficult times in life of a gamer.
— WhatifGK (@WhatifEd) March 15, 2020
Animal crossing wild world was a game that got me through my teenage years, through the angst and the difficulties of those years. It holds a special place in my heart and even now i hope to find solace when playing it after a day of work!
— Mr. Macrat (@vincentmacrat) March 17, 2020
I haven’t played an AC title yet, but there’s something about the game that’s seems so relaxing and peaceful. The fact that it holds to Nintendo’s mission to ensure that it can be played safely also makes me want to try it out.
— AsK (@Mr_ASK15) March 10, 2020
In Animal Crossing New Leaf, what was special to me was the trees with fruit sprouting up, finding fossils, bugs and fish and putting them in a museum and spending all my playcoins to get tons of fortune cookies with goodies!
— Elias Roa (@elias0roa) March 16, 2020
AC became one of the first games my now husband introduced me to on my 3ds. Before I just played pokemon and had no idea there was games like a.c. out there! Everytime I play it, I am reminded of @soltreev introducing me and how much I am so grateful that he exists 🙂
— Mellie (🌟she/her🌟) (@mellie711) March 10, 2020
Animal Crossing is different. While I never played a mainline game what’s special is how United the fans are. This game has been hyped for over a year and it’s finally coming out. So both the newcomers and veterans can enjoy this relaxing new game.
— Jacob #SoraForSmashDLC (@Mega_Mii51) March 17, 2020
It's special to me because I always get to play them with my sister!
— Exen (@PrimoCrusader) March 10, 2020
Tbh it's the only game that is solely free of stress for me. I can do whatever I want. I'm gonna have such a good time, no matter what I plan on doing that day. No other series is like that. @WcFrischesiegel
— xenohanna ✿ (@spadalicious) March 10, 2020
What's special to me is the style and charm of the series. The chibi designs, the uber chill nature, the writing, the collecting, it's very unique and I was immediately hooked since the very first game (in the west) on GameCube. 🙂
— Hero of Legend (@GoldMetalSonic) March 10, 2020
AC was always special to me for its nature. It's relaxing, it's perfect to take a moment for yourself everyday, or with your beloved ones (like I did on New Leaf with @belaptir). I guess it's most sentimental than anything else, describing why someone likes Animal Crossing.
— Barbara (@vanellopeb) March 10, 2020
Animal crossing is really special to me because you can meet new villager and getting really close with them no matter what 🥰
— Ashlie Smith (@AshlieS154) March 17, 2020
The fact that it made me feel special, how helped me to cope depression and distracted me from suicide, keeping me alive until I met my lovely girlfriend who loves the game. She doesn't know any of this, and how much happy I am sharing my town with her.
— Kira (@kirakirakiller6) March 15, 2020
Its special to me because its a big stress reliever I used on the 3DS, fun to play with friends and because some of the villagers are quirky and give a good laugh, and some villagers speak facts tbh
— mystic. (@RadiantlyMystic) March 16, 2020
I lose my job, I feel sad and depressed, my parents are old, and I'm scared of the current situation, I love Animal Crossing too much, I have many dear memories with it, it's such a fantastic game, it could help me as a relief to my problems.
— Angel (@angel_kof1) March 17, 2020
We all hope you enjoy your island getaway this weekend!
