Handheld is not Supported with Super Mario Party

Mario says “No.”

When it comes to the things Super Mario Party doesn’t support, there is a bit of a list. It doesn’t support the Pro Controller, nor the Joy-Con Grip and even two Joy-Con that are disconnected. On top of this, as expected, handheld play isn’t supported either.

In all honesty, this makes a lot of sense a number of the mini-games are in fact to the gyro feature offered by the Joy-Con. So if you are looking to play with others via multiplayer, docked and tabletop are the only ways to go and if you’re looking to play online with others, a subscription to the Nintendo Switch Online is a necessity.
