September is coming and with it, comes Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. Whether you choose to label it as “add on DLC” or “a new standalone release,” the truth is, it’s both and there is plenty to be excited about.
As a means of raising interest, in recent weeks the @XenobladeJPaccount has been sharing information and imagery on Blades and Drivers related to the game and now, English have details have started to come through. As a means of keeping all the information in one place, we will be sharing all English details below:
A Switch Owner’s Guide to the Drivers & Blades of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country:
“The protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country is Jin. He’s the strongest Blade in Torna, but he dislikes pointless fighting and actually has quite a mellow disposition. Sound a little different to the Jin you knew in the main game?”
“Jin’s Driver, Lora, makes a living amidst the ravages of war by working as a mercenary in Torna – The Golden Country. Lora’s been together with Jin since she was a child, so by now they’re in perfect sync!”
“Haze is Lora’s other Blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. She’s a wind element Blade, and an accomplished healer too. She might look like Lora, but their attitudes couldn’t be more different!”
“Here’s Addam, revered in the time of the main Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game as a legendary hero. In Torna – The Golden Country, he finally makes an appearance! He’s fourth in line to Torna’s throne, but he doesn’t put on airs; rather, he’s a man of the people.”
“Meet Minoth! In Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country he serves as Addam’s Blade. His dark elemental powers and dual gunknives make him a big offensive threat!”
“Don’t let his young age fool you, in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country, Hugo is the Emperor of the militaristic nation of Mor Ardain! Despite his innocent appearance, he’s earned the respect of his people through his willingness to fight for his country.”
“Hugo’s Blades, Aegaeon and Brighid, are passed down through generations of Ardainian emperors. In Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country, it’s their job to support Hugo, who has a tendency to get in over his head.”
“Amalthus brought back the Aegises from the World Tree, and became Malos and Minoth’s Driver. He’s quite junior within the Indoline Praetorium, but it seems his star is on the rise in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country.”
As and when more official English translations of Drivers and Blades, come through, you can expect to see them added above. In the meantime though, here’s some bonus information regarding the characters and settings of Xenoblade Chronicles 2:Torna – The Golden County:
A Switch Owner’s Guide to the Characters & Settings of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country:
“As a young boy, 500 years ago, Mikhail was left all alone after losing everyone in the confusion of war. After encountering Lora, he comes to travel together with her in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country.”
“In Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country, Milton is a Gormotti boy who follows and idolises Addam. He’s got a bright disposition, and acts as a sort of surrogate older brother to Mikhail. He also keeps Mythra on her toes!”
“A staunch believer in his son Addam’s power and charisma, the King of Torna is the one who tasks the hero with putting Malos in his place in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country!”
“In Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country, you’ll fight in teams of three, each made up of one Driver and two Blades! The members of each team are fixed, so the bonds and synergies between them are the key to doing well in battle!”
“The Tornan Titan is the stage of many events in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. It’s dragon-shaped, but most of the time it’s asleep with its neck folded, so it looks surprisingly peaceful.”
“The Gormotti Titan returns in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. 500 years ago, Gormott was still an undeveloped frontier land, so many things about it may be different from its appearance in the main game!”
