A kickstarter campaign has begun for a horizontal side-scrolling action game called NetherWorld. Created by indie studio Hungry Pixels, NetherWorld tells the story of a creature whose wife has left him for another with larger tentacles. After succumbing to depression, he attempts to drown his sorrows with alcohol and other sins. Soon after, he is wrapped up in a surreal, bloody and twisted journey where he will met quirky travellers and some not so friendly monsters.
NetherWorld focuses on dialogue and character development for story progression. There are also some intense boss battles to get the blood pumping. With an arsenal of weapons like swords, torches and firearms, you will need to alternate between them to exploit your enemies weakenesses and overcome your depression.
A website for the game is now online which you can find here. If you would like to support the Kickstarter campaign, you can find it via this link. NetherWorld is aiming to launch on Steam for €5000 before March 21st but if it can reach its stretch goal of €6000, Hungry Pixels will also bring the game to Switch.
