Just as Variety revealed a couple of weeks ago that Justice Smith would star as Tim Goodman in the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie, news of another cast member has come in.
Hollywood Reporter has reported that Kathryn Newton from Pretty Big Lies has wrapped up an intense reading session and has beaten the likes of Natalia Dyer, Haley Lu Richardson and Katherine Langford and negations are now underway. As for the role she has nabbed, she is to play Lucy, a “sassy journalist who goes on an adventure” with Tim Goodman (played by Justice Smith) and Pikachu. Only Lucy has a sidekick of her own, which is a Psyduck and that’s everything we have regarding the film at this time.
