New Japanese Ash-Pikachu Distribution for Pokémon Sun & Moon is On its Way!

Following the datamined data, we all knew Ash-Pikachu will be making an appearance sooner or later and now that appearance is sooner than we thought.

In the latest issue of CoroCoro, it has been revealed that the Pikachu wearing Ash’s hat (Ash-Pikachu,) will be distributed in Japan, but the only way to lay claim to your own Ash-Pikachu, is to pre-book a ticket for the upcoming Pokémon: I Choose You movie. Doing so will allow you to get a very special Serial Code that gives you access to not just one Ash-Pikachu, but all of them (6 in all), along with the Z-Crystal Pikashumium Z that allows Ash-Pikachu to use the Z-Movie 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt.

According to Serebii’s translation of the CoroCoro scans, there is no limit as to how many times the Serial Code can be used per save file, but you can only pre-book for the film once. As for information on when players can add Ash-Pikachu to their team and with which particular hat, we have that information right here:

Obtainable for the first time via Serial Code from the 15^th of April to the 1^st of May

Obtainable for the second time via Serial Code from the 19^th of July to the 31^st of July

Gen 3 Ash-Pikachu (Hoenn cap):

Obtainable for the first time via Serial Code from the 3^rd of May to the 15^th of May

Obtainable for the second time via Serial Code from the 2^nd of August to the 14^th of August

Gen 4 Ash-Pikachu (Sinnoh cap):

Obtainable for the first time via Serial Code from the 17^th of May to the 29^th of May

Obtainable for the second time via Serial Code from the 16^th of August to the 28^th of July

Gen 5 Ash-Pikachu (Unova cap):

Obtainable for the first time via Serial Code from the 31^st of May to the 12^th of June

Obtainable for the second time via Serial Code from the 30^th of August to the 11^th of September

Gen 6 Ash-Pikachu (Kalos cap):

Obtainable for the first time via Serial Code from the 14^th of June to the 26^th of June

Obtainable for the second time via Serial Code from the 13^th of September to the 25^th of September

Gen 7 Ash-Pikachu (Alola cap):

Obtainable for the first time via Serial Code from the 28^th of June to the 17^th of July

Obtainable for the second time via Serial Code from the 27^th of September to the 9^th of October
