Revealed on June 9, 2026, as part of a Nintendo Direct and available until September 1, 2026, at 00:59 PT, the DK Challenge is a limited-time event for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. With a total of 39 collectable cards — 15 earned by completing challenges in classic Donkey Kong titles and 24 challenges exclusive to Donkey Kong Bananza — the challenge cards were previously digital only. Now, Nintendo has announced that physical cards are on the way.
To be distributed via My Nintendo this October and solely announced for the US so far, anyone who has completed every challenge before the DK Challenge ends will be eligible to redeem a physical set of the DK Challenge Cards without having to spend a single Platinum Point.

Celebrate your DK Challenge journey with a collectible card set inspired by both the colorful world of the Donkey Kong™ Bananza game and classic Donkey Kong adventures. This physical 39-card set and custom card case is available to eligible participants who complete the entire DK Challenge. No My Nintendo Platinum Points* are required to redeem this reward.
Eligible members who complete the DK Challenge by September 1 at 12:59 a.m. PT will be notified in early October via a My Nintendo news article with instructions on how to claim the reward. This offer is available only to eligible players in the United States.

- 15 cards featuring retro challenges in select Nintendo Classics titles

About the DK Challenge:
The DK Challenge is a limited-time event open to active Nintendo Switch Online members** on the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system. This event runs until September 1 at 12:59 a.m. PT.
During the event, you can complete challenges to earn digital Challenge Cards for select games across the Donkey Kong series from the Nintendo Classics game libraries, as well as the Donkey Kong Bananza game. Some challenges are great for beginners, some for more experienced players, and all are geared toward having fun. Can you collect every Challenge Card before the event ends? After the event ends, you can still view the Challenge Cards you earned by selecting your Profile icon in the top-left corner of the Nintendo Switch Online app on your Nintendo Switch 2 system.
The DK Challenge is open to all Nintendo Switch 2 players who have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. The Donkey Kong Bananza game (sold separately) is required to complete challenges for that game.

Team up with a friend — In 2-player co-op mode, one player controls Donkey Kong while the other can be Pauline, riding on DK’s shoulder, using her powerful vocal blasts to clear a path and zap baddies. (You can even try Joy-Con™ 2 mouse controls for more precise aiming!) Pauline can also copy nearby terrain to add some environmental umph to her blasts. When DK and Pauline work together, the bad guys don’t stand a chance!
Assist Mode — If you’re a new player or just want a more mellow experience, try out Assist Mode! Get helpful features like automatic path guidance, aim assist, reduced damage, and regenerating health!
