The Legend of Superb Casting.

Following leaked footage of The Legend of Zelda live-action movie getting underway in New Zealand, Nintendo has taken the time to issue an official statement, to say filming has begun and has shared three images pertaining to the film.

In the first image, we see Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (17) as Link, joined by Bo Bragason (21) as Princess Zelda. In the second and third picture, are a close up of Link and Zelda separately. All images can be seen below, along with the statement by Shigeru Miyamoto:

“This is Miyamoto. Filming is underway for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda in a lush, natural setting, with Bo Bragason-san who will play Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san who will play Link.

Filming is on track for the film’s release on May 7, 2027. It will take a while until the release, so we would be grateful if you would wait patiently and look forward to it.”
