Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian

Atelier Resleriana goes from mobile game to fully-fledged console adventure.

During a special livestream at Bilibili World, Koei Tecmo and Gust shared a System Introduction trailer showcasing new gameplay footage for Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian. For those who may not know, Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian  is a sequel to the mobile game Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemist and the Polar Night Liberator, and its story actually runs parallel to the events of the game after Weltex is defeated. The game will release on Nintendo Switch on Sepetember 25th, 2025 and will see Atelier series favourites return like Ryza and Klaudia from the “Secret” Series and Ayesha Altugle from the “Dusk” series to help the game’s protagonists, Rias and Slade, in their story.

In the System Introduction trailer, we get a good look at the Synthesis mechanic, a staple of the Atelier series, as well as Shop Management, Town Development, Battle and Exploration. KOEI TECMO REVEALS NEW GAMEPLAY DETAILS FOR ATELIER RESLERIANA: THE RED ALCHEMIST & THE WHITE GUARDIAN!

Synthesis and combat systems detailed during a special Atelier livestream!

Hertfordshire, 11th July 2025 – Today, at Bilibili World, KOEI TECMO and developer Gust delighted fans during a special Atelier livestream by sharing new gameplay information about Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian, revealing more details about the synthesis and combat systems ahead of the game’s release on 26th September 2025 on PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch and PC Windows via Steam®.

The Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian dev team also shared new details on the connection between the game and Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, as the two titles are jointly considered as A25 in the Atelier franchise, making the upcoming title a completely new entry in the series and not a spin off nor a port. While the two titles share the same universe and timeline, the upcoming new Atelier Resleriana title takes place after the Weltex is defeated and introduces players to a new story occurring in parallel with Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemist and the Polar Night Liberator, where players follow the adventures of Rias Eidreise and Slade Clauslyter as they explore the Lantarna continent.

In their quest, they will encounter new and familiar characters from past Atelier titles, such as fan-favourite alchemist Ryza and her friend Klaudia from the “Secret” series, or Ayesha Altugle from the “Dusk” series. These characters will interact with Rias and Slade and help progress through the story. The two main protagonists will engage in turn-based combat against various opponents while influencing the order of action turns to make the most of their team members’ skills. Players will be able to trigger “Multi-Actions” with support characters, enabling them to perform up to three actions in a row. During multi-skills attack, players can use items, and by using two or more in a row, trigger an “Item Mix” that will add extra effects, allowing for a unique combination of items.

By attacking their opponents, players will need to fill in the “Unite Gauge”, allowing them to benefit from different effects depending on the number of “unites” available. For example, when two unites or more are filled in, a special “Unite Attack” will automatically trigger when two front-row characters act consecutively. Once the “Unite Gauge” is completely full, players can use the five unites to trigger a “Unite Burst” where all front-row characters gain consecutive turns. While the “Unite Gauge” progressively depletes from actions consuming unites, the “Unite Attacks” will be considerably strengthened, allowing players to deal massive damages to enemies.

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian, players will synthesise items by connecting the “Gift Colours” of selected ingredients, adding traits to the final item. Some specific ingredients, known as “Catalyst Ingredients”, will have particular effects included, allowing fans to synthesise special items. For example, the “Altus” catalyst ingredient will allow players to determine the “Gift Colours” of the next ingredient, while the “Iris Stone” catalyst ingredient will change the pre-designated category of the next ingredient slot. Adding certain ingredients will trigger a “Recipe Morph” and change the recipe being synthesised, allowing players to create new items. By cooperating with up to three other team members or fairies during the synthesis process, players can create items with even more powerful effects, while using Slade’s Geist Core will allow them to enhance only once an item has already been synthesised.

Lastly, during their exploration of the Lantarna continent, players will venture to the “Dimensional Paths”; dungeons whose structure will change randomly with each visit. Fans will be able to pick the difficulty of these dungeons, which will change the enemies they face, the category, and placement of the ingredients they can gather. The higher the difficulty, the more valuable the ingredients and rewards. Fairies can also be encountered, and will give players various useful items, as well as being able to recruit them to work at the “Mistletoe Miscellaneous”, helping to sell various synthesized items.

In Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian will include Japanese voices with English texts only. Everyone who purchases either a physical or digital edition up to the first two weeks after release will receive the “Activewear Adventuring Set” for Rias and Slade, and the “Adventuring Charm Set” as early purchase bonus.

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian will be available as an entirely offline adventure with no internet connection required*. The game will not include any gacha system (lootboxes) and players will be able to fully enjoy the synthesis and combat systems of a classic Atelier game. The PlayStation® 4 version will not be sold outside of Japan.
