Original Donkey Kong Country team reunites to celebrate the game’s 30th anniversary at EGX MCM Comic Con

Thursday 29 August, London: ReedPop have today announced another exciting EGX panel that will be coming to MCM Comic Con x EGX this October and are included in your ticket.

To celebrate 30 years of Donkey Kong Country, four members of the original development team will be attending the convention to discuss their experiences, insights and anecdotes from the game’s development.

Originally released in November 1994 for the Super Nintendo, Donkey Kong Country is a legendary platformer developed by iconic UK developer Rare and published by Nintendo

If you’ve ever wondered how the game came to be, from its iconic soundtrack to its (for the time) ground breaking visuals, plus the process that went into redesigning Donkey Kong for a new age (a redesign that has lasted to this day), you won’t want to miss this.

Members of the panel include…

  • Gregg Mayles (Game Designer)
  • Steve Mayles (Art)
  • Kev Bayliss (Art)
  • David Wise (Composer)

EGX will take place from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th October alongside MCM Comic Con, and will be the first time both events are under one roof. Attendees can expect many more panel announcements in the coming weeks.
