Nintendo has published its latest financial results ending of June 30th, 2024. This means we can see how sales for the Nintendo Switch have fared over the last three months, as well as the sales for Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, which both released after the last reported earnings so this is the first time we can learn about how well they have sold worldwide.
Sales have improved slightly for the Switch with an increase of 2.1 million over the last three months and bringing total worldwide sales for the console to 143.42 million. Sales during the previous three months between December 31, 2023, and March 31, 2024, were only 1.9 million so a slight increase to 2.1 million is still pretty good for the Switch in its twilight years, although we would love to see the Switch hit 150 million before the sun eventually sets on it as players move on to Nintendo’s next big console.
On the software side of things, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door has made 1.76 million sales and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD made 1.19 million. It may not sound like much in relation to how well other Nintendo Switch titles have managed to pull in but then again, breaking over a million is still quite the feat and well earned for games that have had a second lease on life on Switch. Princess Peach Showtime has also been reported to be sitting at 1.3 million sales according the Financial Results Explanatory Material that was published earlier today.
What are your thoughts on Nintendo’s latest sales numbers? We still have a number of cool titles to look forward to for this year, and there is no doubt that the Legend of Zelda edition Nintendo Switch Lite may help boost numbers somewhat but will it be enough for the Switch family of systems to break the 150 million milestone? Let us know what you think in the comments!
