Nintendo has announced on social media that their Basketball update for Nintendo Switch Sports will be releasing this week. In the US, players will be able to download the update come Tuesday afternoon (July 9th), whereas in Europe, the update will be available sometime in the early hours of Wednesday (July 10th), which is just the way the time zones work.

The Basketball update is free to download once it is live and will allow players to take part in 2v2 matches locally or online as well as solo three-point challenge and five streak battle with up to four players.

To get you hyped up for the new update, we have the short announcement trailer for the update for you below, which was first shown during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct.
