Champion of the Blueberry League and Champion of our hearts.

Recently, a Japanese publication, Nintendo Dream, carried out a survey asking players to vote for their favourite character from the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games and their associated DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

With the results now available in the latest issue, out of the top 20 characters who were voted, Kieran, an NPC that was heavily featured in the DLC, emerged victorious with 2,227 votes. As for who else made the list, we have the full results here:

  1. Kieran (2,227 votes)
  2. Arven (1,772 votes)
  3. Rika (1,631 votes)
  4. Carmine (1,256 votes)
  5. Julianna / Florian (934 votes)
  6. Drayton – 834 votes
  7. Nemona (750 votes)
  8. Larry (744 votes)
  9. Grusha (653 votes)
  10. Iono (603 votes)
  11. Penny (544 votes)
  12. Lacey (470 votes)
  13. Clavell (456 votes)
  14. Hassel (455 votes)
  15. Perrin (357 votes)
  16. Geeta (326 votes)
  17. Brassius (313 votes)
  18. Jacq (299 votes)
  19. Crispin (264 votes)
  20. Raifort (221 votes)

As for the percentages behind the votes and the ages of those who took part, we have that here:

  • Female Voters (74.7%)
  • Male Voters (19.9%)
  • Other Voters (5.4%)
  • Ages 31 – 35 (19.8%)
  • Ages 26 – 30 (23.3%)
  • Ages 21 – 25 (20.9%)
  • Ages 16 – 20 (17%)
  • Ages 15 & Below (11.4%)
  • Unspecified Ages (7.6%)

Given the arc Kieran is given in the DLC and his his story is entwined with the overall narrative of the DLC, it is understandable that he and sister, Carmine, were able to do so well for themselves in the popularity vote.

About Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet:

Welcome to the wide-open world of the Paldea region – Catch, battle, and train Pokémon in the Paldea Region, a vast land filled with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, small towns, and sprawling cities. Explore a wide-open world at your own pace and traverse land, water, and air by riding on a form-shifting Legendary Pokémon—Koraidon in the Pokémon Scarlet game and Miraidon in the Pokémon Violet game. Choose either Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly, to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through Paldea.

Pick your path – There is no set path on your Paldea adventure, so you can weave freely through three grand stories:

  • Victory Road – Along Victory Road, you will challenge Gyms in different locations and aim to achieve Champion Rank.
  • Path of Legends – On the Path of Legends, take on gigantic Titan Pokémon that guard rare ingredients.
  • ★ Starfall Street ★ – In ★ Starfall Street ★, you’ll use the Auto Battle feature to take on Team Star grunts from your school in order to reach their boss.

Which will you choose?

  • SPRIGATITO – The Grass Cat Pokémon – Capricious and attention seeking, it may sulk if it sees its Trainer giving attention to a Pokémon other than itself.
  • FUECOCO – The Fire Croc Pokémon – Fuecoco is laid-back and does things at its own pace. It loves to eat, and it will sprint toward any food it finds with a glint in its eye.
  • QUAXLY – The Duckling Pokémon – This serious-mannered Pokémon will follow in its Trainer’s wake. It’s tidy, and it especially dislikes getting its head dirty.

Even more fun with multiplayer – Discover new Pokémon and explore unfamiliar areas with your friends and family!:

  • Pokémon HOME – With Pokémon HOME, you can move Pokémon between compatible games, trade Pokémon on the go, and more!
  • Poké Portal – Along with series staples, such as trading and battling** Pokémon, you will be able to explore the various locations of the region in these games with other players.

Part 1: The Teal Mask:

In Part 1: The Teal Mask, join a special school trip to the land of Kitakami and learn about the local legend of the Loyal Three Pokémon.

Your base of operations will be Mossui Town, a communal hub where locals gather and shop among picturesque fields and rice paddies.

Visit Kitakami Hall to the East of the village and experience the traditional Festival of Masks. Encounter the newly-discovered Legendary Pokémon Ogerpon as you unravel local folktales.

  • The Heroes of Kitakami – Three Pokémon named Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti appear. They are beloved by the people of the village as heroes that protected the land of Kitakami in the past, and stone statues were made in their likeness to express the people’s gratitude toward these three Pokémon.
  • New places, new Pokémon – At Kitakami Hall, villagers hold the Festival of Masks, a tradition that has been passed down for generations. A variety of stalls appear during this festival, selling everything from candy apples to yakisoba—children and adults alike can enjoy themselves at this event!
  • Familiar faces – You will be able to encounter familiar Pokémon that have been found living in other regions but which had not appeared in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

Part 2: The Indigo Disk:

The story of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet continues in Part 2: The Indigo Disk.

Study abroad at Blueberry Academy, where the curriculum emphasizes Pokémon Battling. Here, you’ll explore the undersea Terarium, a facility with artificial environments teeming with Pokémon. Each of the four areas of the Terarium has a distinct climate, ecosystem, and Pokémon to find.

Encounter the newly-discovered Legendary Pokémon Terapagos as you broaden your horizons beyond Naranja or Uva Academy.

  • Take on the Blueberry Academy’s Elite Four! – Blueberry Academy has its own Pokémon battling league called the Blueberry League—aka the BB League—where students battle each other and climb the ranks based on their skills.
    • You’ll be able to take on the BB League Elite Four in the Terarium, where each biome is occupied by a different member of the BB League Elite Four.
  • A new Tera Type has been discovered! – In The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, a new Tera Type has been discovered—a nineteenth Tera Type.
    • Something about it seems different from the eighteen Tera Types we’ve seen before, but much is yet unknown. What is the truth behind this nineteenth Tera Type?
  • Familiar First Partner Pokémon return – First partner Pokémon from past titles in the core Pokémon series are appearing in spades in the Terarium housed within Blueberry Academy, the setting of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk.
    • The Terarium is a facility that re-creates a variety of biomes—from the tropics to icy seas—where many different Pokémon live and thrive in the environment best suited to them. You might even get the rare chance to see first partner Pokémon as they live in the wild.
