Furukawa Announces June Direct and Confirms Switch Successor Reveal this Financial Year

Straight from the horse’s mouth.

Now that Nintendo has shared their latest quarterly results, lots of sales figures have come in for multiple Nintendo Switch titles, but the biggest takeaway of them all is the Nintendo President, Shuntaro Furukawa confirming the Switch’s successor will finally be revealed during this financial year, ending end of March 2025. He also announced that there will be a Nintendo Direct this June, showcasing what is planned for the Nintendo Switch in 2024. Here’s his statement in full:

This is Furukawa, President of Nintendo. We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015. We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024, but please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation.
