“The sky’s the limit!”

WASD Live 2024 is over and the doors are closed until the next event, but the fun is far from over. With many games played and lots of developers and publishers to speak to, in today’s Best of, we’re putting the spotlight on Sky of Tides:

Best of WASD | Sky of Tides: (Lofty Sky Entertainment Inc.)

In development by Lofty Sky Entertainment Inc. and due to be published by ESDigital Games, Sky of Tides is an upcoming narrative-based game with a sci-fi setting you won’t want to miss out on. In this anti-RPG where choices matter, you play as Rin D’Lorah, a daughter who is driven to find her missing father and save the broken planet of Numen. The world has been ripped apart, splintered into nine planetoids, floating in the sky, joined by the oceans themselves and this is just the first part of an expanding IP.

With a series on the way later this year in the form of a five-part animated series called Sky of Tides: Atla, which features a different protagonist, but takes place during the same time period of Sky of Tides, Lofty Sky Entertainment Inc. have only just begun to tell the full story of Numen and the inhabitants who call the broken planet home. Will there be DLC? Will there be aditional spin-offs? Could we get an eventual comic? When it comes to the digital media production company that is Lofty Sky, anything is possible and only time will tell.

In the meantime, if you are unable to wait for the full game and series to release later this year, the good news is there is a demo of Sky of Tides available now on Steam, and as long as you have an active account or can remember your log in details, there’s nothing stopping you from diving in this very moment.

About Sky of Tides:

Sky of Tides is a sci-fi narrative game set in a technologically advanced universe on the brink of war. Play as Rin, who must search for her missing father and heal the broken planet of Numen. Explore the world while your choices shape your character.

A calamity has fractured the world of Numen into nine floating planetoids. Diverse nations now hover isolated from each other in the sky, while the ocean hovers above them all, enveloping the broken planet, which hangs by a thread. Two rival powers vie for control—the Syndicate through their monopoly on a little understood but powerful technology that relies on mysterious Corron minerals that they control; and the Sovereign, which favors a return to the now nearly lost ways of the ancients outlined in the banned Numen Tomes.
