While The Game Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley may be one of the most recognized video game awards ceremonies around the world, the largest video game convention in Europe, Gamescom also has its own fair share awards to give out to games that were announced or playable at the event.
Nintendo did quite well in the Gamescom 2023 Awards and managed to take home five awards, mostly for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom including the Most Epic, Best Audio, Best Nintendo Switch Game, and Best Gameplay categories. The other Nintendo game to get an award was Pikmin 4 for the Most Wholesome category.
