The Atelier Ryza series is a popular video game series developed by GUST. A few months ago, Gust announced that the first game in the Atelier Ryza series (also known as the “Secret” series), Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout was getting an animated tv series and would air in summer, 2023. Roll on July 1st, and the first episode now available to watch on select streaming services.

Much like the game it is based on, the Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout anime is voiced in Japanese natively but for those who may have a Crunchyroll premium account, you can watch the first episode right now and choose from a selection of subtitle options including English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, and Portuguese. The Nintendo Switch also has the Crunchyroll app available on the eShop. This means you can download the app to your Switch and watch the first series of the Atelier Ryza anime on the TV in docked mode or handheld wherever you like.

I will admit that being a fan of the series, I have never created an account so fast in my life. I didn’t have a Crunchyroll before but an animated series of my fave girl Ryza was too good to pass up. Whilst only the first episode is live at the moment, more episodes will be added periodically 1-hour after their initial release in Japan.
