Gotta sell ’em all!
Now that Nintendo have shared their latest financial results for the last quarter, lots of interesting sales numbers have been reported for multiple Pokémon games. Firstly, to the disappointment of some, Pokémon Legends: Arceus has yet to perform well enough to secure itself a place amongst Nintendo’s Top Selling titles for the Nintendo Switch. Continuing to occupy tenth place is none other than Ring Fit Adventure, which has shipped 14.09 million copies.
Instead, since its release back in January of this year, Pokémon Legends: Arceus has shipped 12.64 million units, which in fairness, is not a number to be easily dismissed, as it is still impressive nonetheless. Yet, there has been some shake up amongst the top selling titles as Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! have now been overtaken by Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl as the Sinnoh based remakes have now become the best-selling Pokémon remakes. With both Let’s Go games now at 14.53 million sales (previously 14.33), Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are now at 14.65 million.
With regards to Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, however, the Gen 8 games are currently at a reported 24.27 million sales and with Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet releasing later this year, it would be interesting to see how successful the Gen 9 games go on to become.
