The Nintendo Switch is undeniably an excellent video game console. However, it’s not something you must enjoy on your own, either, as there are plenty of fun games that allow online play. So, whether you like relaxing, slow-paced games or exciting shooters, here are five great games to play with friends on your Switch.
1: Fortnite
Fortnite is an excellent Battle Royale game with lots of different skins, emotes, weapons, and ways to play. You can jump into the main Battle Royale game with up to three other friends, or you can go on creative mode to build cool forts and even make up your own games! You can also play it casually or get stuck into the more competitive side of it.
If you’re hoping for more competitive switch games, League of Legends: Wild Rift is one that’s set to come soon to the console. For those who have a PC, you can get started online – you could even work your way up to the LoL Champions!
2: Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing: New Horizons took the gaming world by storm at the beginning of the pandemic, and even now, people enjoy teaming up with friends to go fishing, talk to animals, upgrade houses, and pay debts to the infamous Tom Nook. It’s not an adrenaline game – it’s a game for a gentle and relaxing hangout. Before long, you’ll have put plenty of hours into this calming game without even realizing it!
3: Among Us
Despite being available for two years prior, Among Us became extremely popular during the end of 2020 and has since become a staple for groups of friends. The gist is this – you and a group of others enter a map of a spaceship as bean-like space creatures, with one or two of the group being assigned the role of the imposter. There are two outcomes – the crew figure out who the imposter is, or the imposters succeed in killing the whole ship. It’s as fun as it sounds!
4: Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
At this point, who hasn’t played a version of Mario Kart with their friends? Mario Kart 8 for Nintendo Switch doesn’t disappoint. With all the usual characters like Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach making an appearance, you get to ride around colorful and creative tracks while tossing shells and throwing bananas at your opponents. Just watch out for that blue shell while seemingly safe in first place!
5: Minecraft
Minecraft is a classic that’ll never grow old. Now around ten years old, it’s a game that’s stood the test of time due to its simplicity, educational properties, and interesting environment. You can build bases with your friends, dig for diamonds, or work your way to the hostile Ender Dragon in the Nether. Sometimes, it’s just a cool place to hang out with friends while exploring the lands.
The Nintendo Switch has plenty of games to keep you entertained. So, for fun with friends, choose one of these five games that won’t grow old any time soon.
