Originally projected to gross close to $160 million worldwide for its first weekend, Box Office Mojo is now reporting that the Detective Pikachu movie has been projected to have grossed just over $170 million worldwide for its first weekend.
Moreover, with projected revenue for Friday ($20,630,000), Saturday ($20,480,000), and Sunday ($16,890,000), the Detective Pikachu movie has now grossed over $58 million domestically (U.S.), marking the highest-grossing weekend for any video game movie ever.
